Chestnut Flats POA
Sustainable Excellence
The Preserve at Chestnut Flats represents the best in sustainable mountain development.
The key features of a conservation-minded development are:
-
Touch as little of the mountain as possible, leaving as much of the natural surroundings intact
-
Live harmoniously with the native flora and fauna
-
Embrace the Western North Carolina way of living by putting nature at the center of everything we do.

900 Acres
Chestnut Flats is a 900-acre development that borders the Great Smokey Mountain National Park We have 3 miles of well-maintained roads and over 5 miles of hiking trails. Conveniently located just 20 minutes north of Waynesville, you are close enough to town to make short grocery trips but far enough away to avoid the city lights and traffic.

Vision
Our goal for Chestnut Flats is to live in harmony with the mountain. We cut enough trees to site your house perfectly on your new lot and unlock a beautiful viewshed that allows you to see miles and miles of the beautiful Smokey Mountains. We have seen other mountain developments clear-cut acres of trees to give their development more of a "developed" feel. We strive for the opposite.

Living the Mountain Life
Living the sustainable mountain lifestyle means waking up, grabbing a cup of coffee, and seeing the fog start to burn off in the valley below you. It means grabbing your camera and hiking shoes and heading out on one of our hiking trails, looking for wildlife. It means heading into town to check out one of the many restaurants or breweries that Waynesville and Ashville have to offer before returning to your mountain retreat to do it all again the next day.
